Farmstead Goat’s Milk Caramel and Fresh Chèvre
Try our unique farmstead Goat’s Milk Caramel Sauce – the traditional Mexican confection known as cajeta. Handcrafted with fresh milk from our own herd of pastured dairy goats, we think our caramel will knock your socks off, but you don’t have to take our word for it – here’s what some of our fans have to say about our cajeta:
“I love your product!” – Chef Rick Bayless
“This sauce was completely free of the cloying flavor so common in store bought brands. That phantom stale sweetened presence was replaced by a creamy, oh-so-slightly salty richness.” – Sweet Foodie
“This caramel is nutty, toffee like and is wonderful in coffee, on top of ice cream, drizzled over fruit or even spread on toast in the morning, before that hectic day. Indulge.” - The Farmstead
“Made of roasted flavors with an intense, nutty bitterness close to the French brand of cooked sugar (the top of how a crème brûlée tastes), these are out of the jar delights.” - Isa Restaurant
“What’s not to love? Traditional “Dulce de Leche-style” caramel made with fresh Vermont goat’s milk! Fat Toad’s rendition is made at the farm by hand stirring simmering their own goat’s milk and sugar for several hours until the mixture becomes rich, creamy and golden brown. The resultant caramel is thick, rich, buttery and simply knee-buckling.” - Woodstock Farmers’ Market
“Quickly I opened the ice cream and then the caramel, and began dipping and dunking my spoon, topping it with a walnut half and -woolah!- my food high felt like it was fueled by some NASA space ship that transported me the planet of happy food bliss.” - Chef Courtney Contos
“I could seriously put a straw in each of them and suck it down if no one was looking. I used my pointer finger to scrape every last bit of cajeta out of the jar before I sent them to the recycling bin. It was pathetic in a way, but this is the type of product that you cannot let go to waste.” - Goodies for Gifts
